Rose,
I hope you get well soon! Just the other day my boyfriend also got hit by a car on his bike in Burlington. And thats when I heard about what happened to you. Fortunately he was not badly hurt. But I can imagine what you and your family must be going through. I really hope that everything goes well for you. Stay Strong!

Rose, my heart really goes out to you. I was the victim of a hit and run last summer. I've seen you on the field and know how strong you are. I know you'll be tearing it up again soon!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Rose,

I would have expected the car to have fared worse than you! My best wishes are with you. A number of us on the Harvard team have been on the losing end of battles with cars--you have our most sincere sympathies. My only advice is to get a sweet-ass bike to replace the old one--ASAP. I'll be keeping track of your progress, as will many on our team.
Best,
Cory J (Harvard)

Hey, Rose.

You are now a member of the cycling community that has suffered at the hands of a motorist. Unfortunately, that is a big, growing community.

I've only met you briefly at a few races (I was an official at the Easterns). I remember seeing you attempt to carry a set of rollers on the bike (without success). You made an impression on me, both for your racing talent, and your sense of humor. I know you have the combination of toughness and good spirit that will help you get well quickly.

I hope to see you duking it out in the ECCC come spring

Rosie,

Rosie, I have seen you deal with tough situations many times and have no doubt that you will dig in and show all of us that true Rose Long fighting spirit. We all think about you and pray for a speedy recovery.

Your old coach wishes he could do more to help you through these difficult times. This is the steepest hill that you have been asked to climb and I have no doubt that you will, once again, make us proud.

I'll call you soon.

Mary and I were glad to hear you are now at home. Would you ever have believed that Slim would have been so nurselike. Hope you don't have to rely on his cooking, though he does make a mean shake.

Rose, I was so sorry to hear of your accident. You were so encouraging to me the other week in the store, and I have gotten back onto my roller skis partly due to your help. Sending you best wishes for a speedy recovery,

Dave R.

Rose,

I'm sending you best wishes that have an admittedly somewhat selfish basis.... I totally admire the way you always demand the best of yourself and consequently, the best of those that dare compete against you on the bike. I'm sure that same drive will serve you well in your recovery. I say I hope for the best of healing for you because I was very much looking forward to racing with you in the spring as we never had the chance to overlap at Colby/in undergrad. :0)

Take good care, heal fast, and heal well!

Hugs,
Callie McDowell

A special thanks to Slim for his exceptional care of Rose througout her hospital stay and continues to assist her to maintain her independence. Slim typically spent 20 hours at the hospital every day and made a huge difference to Roses physical and mental recovery. Thank you from all of Roses family
