10-27

My lack of activity on the blog is the best testament to my recovery. I have been going out on short rides and doing a zillion situps to get my strength back. I spend less time sitting at the house (read: at the computer) and more time outside. I went home last weekend to an amazing Kingdom Trails benefit. Slim rode plenty of the trails and I spent some time working at my house. I like how when you go to the Kingdom, nothing is a big deal. Nothing. It is counter-intuitive because there isn't a ton going on, but really, people over there don't get riled up very easy.
As far as my mouth goes, I learned today it is going to take a loong time. A wicked long time. Like 18 months. Holy cow. That is almost too long to write. I am doing willpower exercises to see if my teeth will grow back on their own.
Enjoy the weather and don't forget to vote.

Wow,
If a doctor ever talks about putting freeze-dried bone (aka cadaver bone) into your jaw, just politely say, "No, thank you." Your mouth will thank you.

On another note, I can now do a trick which I do not believe many people are able to do. I can close my jaws such that my molars are touching and then...drum roll please....stick out my tongue all the way. I no longer am the proud owner of my two front teeth and with no bottom teeth, I have this nice opening. I don't even think little kids can do this because they do not have molars yet. Are you jealous?

Besides me and my mouth procedure, there are two thing happening this weekend: Gloucester and Eastern's at Sunday RIver. Hopefully at this time next year, I will recollect how much I want to ride and race. But for now, it is just recover recover recover.

10-5

Hello,
Today is Lance's day isn't it? the day his life got totally turned upside down. I think.

Anyway, I have to tell you what I do for entertainment while I'm on the mend. I walked out of my house the other day to see four cop cars and a bunch of cops surrounding the apartment building across the street. upon closer inspection it was determined there was a episode of cops happening right here in the north end. we did what any self respecting person would do and tailgated. We sat on the bumper eating oatmeal watching the action. The police searched the apartment and took out bags with white dust spillling from them. They weren't very careful and some of the dust got onto the pavement. Other people came out and started sucking it in their noses off the road.
Very funny,
Rose
